If You’re Smiling, You’re Not Staring!

Confidently Chloe

Hi, I’m Kelly Vurinaris,

and Confidently Chloe is inspired by my daughter who was born with TCS (Treacher-Collins Syndrome).  It started with a simple phrase and we quickly saw the impact of how an introduction changes from a stare to a friendship and as I always say

“If You’re Smiling You’re Not Staring.

Advocating for Differences

I am so excited you’re here!

“Now that you are, I’d say we’re friends! My mom wrote the book “Hi, I’m Me.” The book talks about a little girl with facial differences who notices people staring at her.

Mom taught me a simple phrase to say, and now she says I have confidence. Let’s take a journey together where we encourage inclusivity and a world where differences are beautiful.”

Why Choose My Books?

Every child is important and meant to be here. It doesn’t matter how you look. These books help children with differences understand if you add your voice, you are no longer an object to be stared at. My books are based on true stories that represent what I taught my daughter to do when someone is staring at her.

Great help for our Children in today's world!

This little book is a simply read with a BIG MESSAGE to help our children adapt as they enter into new relationships that affect not only them, but others they come in contact with. In today's complex world of diversification, it is our responsibility to provide them with the tools to help them as they go forward in life. I highly recommend ordering this book, which is such a small price to pay for great life-lesson value!

Hi, I'm Me is a beautiful story where the focus is on giving children the confidence to find their voice and introduce themselves. Children are very often curious about those who appear different, whether they have a facial difference, physical difference, wear glasses, or are unique in their own way. This story introduces a little girl who grows her confidence. Now they know me!

Purchased and received within 3 days. Read 3 times to my 2 year old grandson and he loved it! I think he absorbed more of the story with each reading. I knew he would love the book and think it's a wonderful way to learn about each other. Great book for kids apparently as long as they love books and I've never met a child that doesn't!!!

This is a tender story of one of God’s special children and of her mother’s wise guidance in helping her to navigate the world. It also touches on children’s innate capacity for love and acceptance. Every family should have this book in their library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful book

What a beautiful book! The story is about a little girl who is a little different from other children and often gets stared at. Her mother teaches her it's because they don't know her yet so she needs to bravely introduce herself to others so that they will know her and learn more about her. It's a very short and simple book with a big message.

Hi, I'm Me is a beautiful story about a mother who teaches her young daughter how to use her voice and build her confidence when meeting other children. With one simple phrase, she is opening the doors to embracing friendships, acceptance, kindness and more. This book is the perfect example of how we can embrace our unique and beautiful differences to be able to create new and meaningful friendships with others...........all while building the confidence to use our voices as a positive tool along the way! A must-have for teachers, parents and caregivers.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book for all families!

A great book for all families! Our daughter loved the book, and seeing a child with the same accessories as her (she wears a hearing aid too!).

A book that teaches others about kindness and acceptance, but also more importantly one that teaches my child to be confident in her own individual differences as well!

5.0 out of 5 stars the sweetest book!

The sweetest book about a little girl who wants to be accepted when she looks “different”. We all look different in our own ways and what counts is on the inside! Everyone should have this book to help children to understand this important message. 💗
